Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

•Lead the 3rd shift Food Safety/Sanitation/cleaning crew to ensure all work is performed efficiently and according to the company’s food safety standards utilizing the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
•Monitor, coach, and evaluate employee performance; process timecards and resolve issues
•Performs daily pre/post-operation food safety/quality inspections and initiates plant start-up/shut-down procedures.
•Maintains SSOP daily records and reviews previous day’s records.
•Maintains the Master Sanitation Schedule and all associated records
•Monitors sanitation procedure compliance by all employees.
•Ensures that all 3rd shift truck deliveries of perishable products are properly temped, recorded, and put away.
•Uses all required safety equipment and consistently follows all food-related sanitation and operating safety guidelines
•Takes the initiative to see and assign general cleaning tasks in the work area in agreement with the Sanitation Manager
•Assists with daily USDA/FSIS pre-operational inspections of the facility and processing/packaging equipment
•Performs other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager.


Job Requirements:

•High School Diploma required. 2-4 Yr Degree in Food or Biological Sciences Preferred
•Previous working experience in an USDA/FSIS Inspected facility is required
•HACCP certification required
•PCQI Certification preferred
•2 or more years previous work-related experience in a USDA/FSIS and/or FDA regulated food manufacturing environment required
•2 or more years previous supervisory experience required
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Good communicator; must be able to read/write/speak in English
•Intermediate computer, math, and measurement conversion skills 
•Organized and detail-oriented with problem-solving skills 
•Must be able to obtain all required certifications and renew as necessary
•Must be able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
•Must be able to learn/adapt to changing requirements/situations
•Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary
•Has the physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods
•Must be able to push, pull, and lift heavy machinery 
•Has good visual perception as needed to perform job duties
•Must be able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
