Mary K. Mahoney, MS, RD, LD Dietitian – PurFoods, LLC
A registered and licensed dietitian for over 20 years, Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics in Business from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Science in Institution Management from Iowa State University. Her professional experience has included work in child nutrition and school foodservice, as well as a consultant in long-term and end-of-life care programs. She was employed as Project Coordinator for two food safety projects funded by the USDA and administered by Iowa State University (ISU), and as an instructor in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management program at ISU.
Jon T. Benedict Executive Chef - PurFoods, LLC
Chef Benedict is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1998. Benedict was accepted to an after graduate program as the assistant chef instructor at the Culinary Institute of America. Benedict moved on to work in the Midwest's leading hotels and country clubs and two highly regarded restaurants before joining the PurFoods’ culinary team. Benedict had received outstanding newspaper & magazine reviews for his culinary skills and leadership as well as being featured in his own cooking series on a regional television show.
